Frequently asked questions

Booking

We recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks ahead for summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day), which fill up fast. Weekdays and shoulder-season dates (May, September-October) are usually available with a week or less notice. Same-day bookings are occasionally possible -- call us directly to check availability.
Yes. Date changes are free when made more than 48 hours before your original pickup time, subject to availability. Inside 48 hours, a date change is treated as a cancellation and re-book, so our standard cancellation policy applies to the original reservation.
We offer a 10% discount on rentals of 3 consecutive days and a 15% discount on 5+ consecutive days with the same boat. Multi-day packages must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Contact us to arrange a custom quote for week-long trips.
Our MasterCraft boats are rated for 16 to 20 passengers depending on the model — the X-Star seats 16, the three X24s seat 18, and the X26 seats 20. We follow the manufacturer's maximum capacity rating strictly — it's not a suggestion. If your group is larger, ask us about coordinating two boats for the day; we can often arrange to keep both groups in the same cove.

On the lake

The designated operator must be 18 or older. Children under 18 may not operate the helm. Teenagers can sit in the driver's seat with a licensed adult operator present only while the boat is drifting at idle speed in a no-wake zone -- not while underway at speed or towing.
We do not provide a captain as part of a standard rental. All renters complete a 15-minute on-water orientation before departure. If you'd like a full-day guided experience with one of our team members on board, contact us -- we can occasionally arrange staffed charters for groups, subject to availability.
Our MasterCrafts are capable of 40-50 mph depending on the model and load. For tow sports, optimal speeds range from 17-24 mph for wakeboarding and 10-12 mph for surfing. The boats are tuned for performance at wake-sport speeds, not top-speed runs.
You can travel anywhere within the main channel and accessible coves of Lake Powell within the boundaries of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We ask that you avoid the uppermost sections of narrow canyons where depth becomes unpredictable, and always observe posted no-wake zones around marinas and swimming areas.

Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your pickup time for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours receive a 50% refund. No-shows or same-day cancellations after your pickup window are charged in full. See our Policies page for complete details.
If we issue a weather cancellation due to sustained winds above 20 mph or a small-craft advisory, you receive a full refund or free reschedule -- no cancellation fee applies. We make weather calls by 7 a.m. and contact you directly. If you want to cancel voluntarily for weather concerns, standard cancellation terms apply.
Please call or text us as soon as you know you'll be late. We hold boats for up to 30 minutes past your scheduled pickup time. After 30 minutes without contact we may release the boat to another renter and your reservation may be treated as a no-show. Running a bit late is usually fine -- just communicate with us.

Equipment

A starter wakesurf board and a wakeboard with bindings are included in every rental. We also carry a kneeboard and a two-person tube. Boards are cleaned and inspected between each use. If you have specific board preferences or want to bring your own gear, you're welcome to — there's plenty of storage in the bow compartment.
Life jackets sized XS through XXL are included and required on board. Children under 12 must wear one at all times while the boat is underway. Adults must wear a life jacket when actively being towed. The Coast Guard-approved jackets we carry are comfortable and low-profile -- most people forget they have them on.
You're welcome to bring your own boards, fins, ropes, handles, or any other wake gear. Just make sure everything is secured during transport and that any ropes meet the minimum length requirements for the tow sport you're doing (65-75 ft for surfing, 60-70 ft for wakeboarding). We have a secure bow hatch and side storage for your gear.
Yes -- we encourage it. There's a built-in cooler in the bow seating area. Please use non-glass containers and pack out all trash. Alcohol consumption by the operator is prohibited while the boat is underway. Passengers of legal age may consume alcohol responsibly, but the operator must remain sober throughout the rental.
