Frequently asked questions
Booking
No — rent for a single day or book a multi-day trip. Pricing scales with the number of days, so just pick the dates that fit your trip and the rate updates automatically.
All rentals are at Antelope Point Marina, about 8 miles from Page, AZ (537 Marina Parkway). Check in at the Welcome Center gift shop and our team will cart you down to your slip, where your boat is fueled, fully loaded, and ready to launch. You return to the same slip at the end of your rental.
Pick up your boat on day one within a 9:00–11:00 AM window, and return it on your last day within a 1:00–3:00 PM window. We use a 2-hour window on each end rather than an exact time — Lake Powell is a long haul for most guests and conditions on the lake vary, so you can arrive anytime within your window. Returns after your 1:00–3:00 PM window are subject to a late fee, so plan your last morning on the water accordingly.
Yes. Rental insurance is required and is purchased when you reserve your boat, before you arrive — it's an additional cost of 9% of your boat rental total, added at checkout. Everything is handled during booking, so there's nothing extra to sort out at the marina. See our Policies page for details.
Yes — a $3,000 hold is placed on your card while the boat is out. It’s a temporary authorization, not a charge: no money leaves your account, and the hold is released as soon as the boat is returned and confirmed undamaged. Your mandatory insurance covers up to $3,000 of damage; anything beyond that is the renter’s responsibility.
We recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks ahead for summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day), which fill up fast. Weekdays and shoulder-season dates (May, September-October) are usually available with a week or less notice. Because our team travels to the marina to prep and staff your rental, we require at least 48 hours' notice on every booking — same-day and next-day rentals aren't available.
Yes. Date changes are free when made more than 48 hours before your original pickup time, subject to availability. Inside 48 hours, a date change is treated as a cancellation and re-book, so our standard cancellation policy applies to the original reservation.
Online, book anywhere from a single day up to a 10-day maximum, and pricing is built so longer trips earn a better effective per-day rate automatically — the rate updates as you add days. Need the boat longer than 10 days? Call us and we can set up an extended rental by phone.
Our MasterCraft boats are rated for 18 passengers across the fleet — the X-Star S, the three X24s, and the X26 each seat 18. We follow the manufacturer's maximum capacity rating strictly — it's not a suggestion. If your group is larger, ask us about coordinating two boats for the day; we can often arrange to keep both groups in the same cove.
On the lake
No — the main renter and any operator must be at least 23 with a valid driver's license. It's an insurance requirement (these are $200k+ boats), and every operator has to be listed on the rental agreement. Kids and teens are welcome aboard; they just can't be the one driving.
We do not provide a captain as part of a standard rental. All renters complete a 15-minute on-water orientation before departure. If you'd like a full-day guided experience with one of our team members on board, contact us -- we can occasionally arrange staffed charters for groups, subject to availability.
Our MasterCrafts are capable of 40-50 mph depending on the model and load. For tow sports, optimal speeds range from 17-24 mph for wakeboarding and 10-12 mph for surfing. The boats are tuned for performance at wake-sport speeds, not top-speed runs.
You can travel anywhere within the main channel and accessible coves of Lake Powell within the boundaries of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We ask that you avoid the uppermost sections of narrow canyons where depth becomes unpredictable, and always observe posted no-wake zones around marinas and swimming areas.
Cancellation
Reservations cancelled at least 7 days before your rental date are refunded in full. No-shows, and any cancellation made fewer than 7 days before your original rental time, are charged the full amount of the rental. We don’t give refunds for weather, water conditions, late starts, or rentals returned early. See our Policies page for complete details.
We don’t issue refunds or extend rental time for weather, wind, or water conditions, and any weather-related damage to the boat is the renter’s responsibility. That said, if conditions become genuinely unsafe our team may pause or end activity for everyone’s safety — and we’ll never pressure you to take a boat out in conditions you’re not comfortable with.
Message us as soon as you know you’ll be late. A boat returned past your return window is charged a late fee of 25% of the rental rate for each half hour. If you’ve cleared a later return with us ahead of time, the late fee doesn’t apply — so just keep us in the loop.
Equipment
Yes — every boat rents fully loaded at no extra charge. That includes a wakesurf board, a wakeboard with bindings, a kneeboard, a two-person tube, tow ropes and handles, and life jackets in every size. Nothing is à la carte — you just show up. You're welcome to bring your own gear too; there's plenty of storage on board.
You get the boat with a full tank and return it full — fuel is available right at the marina dock. There's no separate fuel fee on the rental; you just cover what you burn.
No — every rental includes a flat $195 cleaning fee, so we deep-clean and detail the boat between rentals (Lake Powell’s red sand gets everywhere). You don’t need to vacuum or wipe anything down; just pack out your trash and don’t grind food into the seats. Excessive mess beyond normal sand-and-water wear may incur an additional charge.
A starter wakesurf board and a wakeboard with bindings are included in every rental. We also carry a kneeboard and a two-person tube. Boards are cleaned and inspected between each use. If you have specific board preferences or want to bring your own gear, you're welcome to — there's plenty of storage in the bow compartment.
Life jackets sized XS through XXL are included and required on board. Children under 12 must wear one at all times while the boat is underway. Adults must wear a life jacket when actively being towed. The Coast Guard-approved jackets we carry are comfortable and low-profile -- most people forget they have them on.
You're welcome to bring your own boards, fins, ropes, handles, or any other wake gear. Just make sure everything is secured during transport and that any ropes meet the minimum length requirements for the tow sport you're doing (65-75 ft for surfing, 60-70 ft for wakeboarding). We have a secure bow hatch and side storage for your gear.
Yes -- we encourage it. There's a built-in cooler in the bow seating area. Please use non-glass containers and pack out all trash. Alcohol consumption by the operator is prohibited while the boat is underway. Passengers of legal age may consume alcohol responsibly, but the operator must remain sober throughout the rental.
